Muehlenbeckia Heart
Muehlenbeckia Heart
For optimal growth, creeping wire vine prefers a sunny or partially shaded location. It can survive in areas with no shade, but growth will be significantly slower. The plant is not picky about soil type and can thrive in dry, infertile soils, making it a great option for rocky slopes where erosion is a concern. However, it does not do well in standing water and requires well-drained soil. During the first growing season, consistently moist soil is recommended for optimal root establishment. Once fully mature, creeping wire vine can tolerate both moist and dry conditions. It is a hardy plant that can even withstand alpine conditions, although growth will be slower in these environments. If planted in good-quality soil, no fertilizer is necessary. However, if the soil is dry and rocky, an annual spring feeding may be beneficial for new growth.
