Clivia - No Flower (Orange)
Learn how to properly care for your Clivia plants by planting them in the spring or autumn. Prepare the soil by digging and adding compost, and position the plants 50cm apart, ensuring the white part of the stem is slightly buried. These plants thrive in dappled shade with only morning sunlight. They are drought tolerant but not frost tolerant, and prefer loamy, well-draining soil rather than clay.
Regularly water the soil in the spring and summer, but only sparingly in autumn and winter. Avoid letting water collect in the foliage crowns as this can lead to fungal rot, and promote more prolific flower growth by keeping the plants in dry shade. In the fall, spread compost over the soil and use organic fertilizer after the plants have finished flowering.
